Welcome to Bio Technology Department

               The Department of Biotechnology at St. Joseph’s college was started in the year 2004 with BMC (Biotechnology, Microbiology and Chemistry) Programme in Biotechnology. Annually 50 students are admitted in this program. The Department has also started BBC (Biotechnology, Botany, Chemistry) in Biotechnology from the academic session 2005-06 with an intake of 50 students. Students learn the basic principles of applied biology and technology using modern devices and experiment with cells and proteins. Biotechnology is one of the most prominent branches of future. After completing this course, one can easily get a good job in this field.

              Our vision is to produce competent Biotechnologists who can employ premium processes and applications which will profoundly influence existing paradigm of agriculture, industry, healthcare and restoration of environment providing sustainable competitive edge to present society.

 To impart quality education for the lifelong professional growth and opportunities in a wide range of careers.
 To create awareness about potentials of Biotechnology with socio-ethical implications
 To install spirit of innovation and creativity in young minds with sound research aptitude.
